is a project-based collective of singers and musicians who gather for choral music and its interdisciplinary possibilities with different musicians and artists each season, exploring the humanness that drives the act of musicking, bridging the gap between choristers, instrumentalists, artists and audiences. 

Founded by Choy Siew Woon in 2021, the choir is a non-profit arts organization based in Singapore, known for a balanced and empathetic exploration of music, of each other, and of the human condition. Drawing from different personal and musical histories, each individual brings to the table an ownership of music-making and an interest in what it means to translate the technicalities of a score from the page into an experience and a headspace, for both musicians and audiences alike. Concerts are especially themed to help new and old audiences see the relevance of choral music in their lives, beyond enjoyment, as a vehicle for social discourse and understanding — so far having explored catharsis, dualism, environmentalism, mental states, and spirituality.

The Chorallective also seeks to provide a space for collaboration, inspiration and growth amongst young musicians, artists, composers and authors, as we collaborate and discover our individual and collective artistic identities and roles in the ecosystem. Thus far, the choir has collaborated with choirs, chamber orchestras, composers, poets, as well as local singers from jazz, gospel and Hindustani classical music genres.

In its 2026 season, The Chorallective's focus is on helping performer and listener draw links between choral music and other familiar domains in life. The society will be working with musicians, poets, anatomy experts and music historians in exploring how unconventional cross-genre collaborations in unexpected performance spaces create a more refreshing and informative experience for both performer and audience alike. On top of that, the season will be capped off with the Singapore premiere of a fusion oratorio, involving theatre, literary arts, opera, pop, jazz and choral elements.
